Last night 3 Doors Down rocked the house at the McDonald theater in Eugene. Members of the Oregon National Guard were invited to attend and had the opportunity to meet the band. 3 Doors Down is releasing a new album May 20th and one of the tracks is titled “Citizen Soldier.” This amazing song is dedicated to the men and women serving in the National Guard.  Click here to see the video.

During Spring Break 2008, the Oregon Army National Guard hosted the JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge at Camp Rilea, OR. Over 200 cadets from high schools across Oregon participated in the camp. The camp focused on team building, leadership and problem-solving skills. The camp also allowed the students to interact with soldiers in the National Guard. Click Here to see the gallery. The National Guard sponsored a free 3 Doors Down concert in Panama City Beach, Florida. A small team from Oregon and Tennessee were invited to tape the event. What an experience! Thousands of people showed up for the free concert and the band rocked it. Before the show some select audience members were invited to meet the band and get autographs and pictures. Six soldiers from the Oregon National Guard were honored in Hollywood, CA. for their service in Iraq. The soldiers were featured in the documentary “This is War,” directed by Gary Mortensen.  They were flown down to LA on a private jet and spent 3 nights at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza. The soldiers met with Ed McMahon (seen above) and later got the chance to visit him at his house in Beverly Hills.

FEB 20-22, 2008

The Oregon National Guard hosted Dale Earnhardt Jr’s # 88 Chevrolet this past February. The car was on display at Wentworth Chevrolet with Lars Larson. It was then on display at Mt.
